Q: Do I need a Certificate to teach online?

Distance learning does not include any in-person interaction with an instructor or study peers. Students study at home on their own and the learning is more individual and varies on speed and timeline according to each individual student and their availability.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Q: Why do Affiliates need the HonuaTree Directory?​​​​​​​

There are a number of reasons, but most essential is that the directory contains all of the administrative and the online marketing tools that are built-in to the technology, including, but limited to content creation (curriculum) and management, marketing tools, etc.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Q: Does HonuaTree require a Teaching Certificate?​​​​​​​

No!  HonusTree's primary role is to facilitate the delivery of education services provided by Affiliate Educators.  Affiliate Educators​​​​​​​ must comply with the requirements of the state in which they provide their services.

Q: Do I need any previous knowledge or experience?​​​​​​​

With relatively few exceptions. it is highly recommended that all providers of academic studies be licensed in the states in which they provide their education services, whether online or in classroom settings.

Q: As an Affiliate, am I employed by HonuaTree?​​​​​​​

No!  HonusTree's primary role is to facilitate the delivery of education services provided by Affiliate Educators.  Unless a direct employee of an education system (school districts), Affiliates are self-employed and must comply with the laws of the state in which they provide their services.

Q: What type of business structure is recommended?​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Q: Who provides the curriculum?​​​​​​​

Each Affiliate is responsible for the development of his or her own curriculum, which must be in alignment with Common Core Standards, which are determined by-enlarge by the local education agency (LEA) in the cities and states where education is provided.

Q: What type of business structure is recommended?​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

No! While the one-time setup fee is non-refundable, there are no contracts associated with the HonuaTree Affiliate Educator Initiative.  Ongoing affiliation with HonuaTree is on a month-to-month basis, therefore Affiliates can cancel their accounts at any time. 

Q: Who provides the curriculum?​​​​​​​

The sources of revenues earned by HonuaTree Education Affiliates depends upon where they offer services.  These sources can include local departments of education, parents, and another source, including private schools, school vouchers paid directly to Affiliates via public schools.

Q: Are Affiliates obligated to use Zoom?​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

No!  There are other similar products available, such as Google Meets.  We recommend that you compare the costs, functionality, and scalability of each as you make the choices the best services your needs and objectives.

Q: Is this program for Individuals only?​​​​​​​

No! Our primary objective is to educate as many students as possible.  Sometimes, the best way to achieve that by offering our Affiliate Initiative to local organizations like non-profits with a youth development mission.   

Q: How much of my time will this take?​​​​​​​

As an independent, self-employed provider of distance learning services, all Affiliates set their own schedules and controls their own business approach as it relates to those services.

Q: Can more than one Affiliate team-up?​​​​​​​

YES!  As the saying goes, "Two heads are better than one."  Besides, just as in a traditional in-person class setting, students go from one teacher to another to learn English, Math, Science, etc.  In the same way, they may need to be taught by more than one teacher. 

Q: Is this similar to other Gig-economy positions?

In some respects, one could describe it that way.  Affiliates sell their services in a freelance fashion, similar to other Gig-economy type jobs (e.g., rideshare).  The difference here is HonuaTreEAI facilitator of online tools that Affiliates use on a monthly fee basis, like an iPhone.

Q: How can I become Certified?

These days, most states offer courses the certify teachers for online learning.  In most cases, all you need is a 4-year bachelor’s degree in any major with a 2.5 GPA. It’s that simple.
